Parent Voice

Parent’s views of the academy are incredibly important to us. Thank you to all of the parents/carers who joined us for parents evening we had a fantastic 85% of parents who turned up to an appointment. It is always such a lovely opportunity to be able to talk about your children, celebrate what they do and discuss how we can take them even further!

The feedback form our most recent Parent Voice Survey-

We also asked for suggestions on ways Parents think we could improve at Simpson’s Lane Academy.

-Parents mentioned that they feel we have too many methods of communication. We have recently sent out a parent survey asking for opinions on preferred methods of communication.

-Parents suggested that alongside our Stay and Reads, we introduce some Arts and Craft sessions. Following this, EYFS have had an Easter crafts session and we are looking to plan some sessions for KS1 and KS2 in the Summer Term.

-Parents also suggested that it would be nice for them to have the opportunity to have an insight into their child’s learning journey in between parents’ evenings. During the next Term our parents will be invited to come into class for an opportunity to look at books etc.

-Another suggestion was that we have signs on the grounds to give directions around the site. We are currently in the process of having 3 new signs made.

Parent's Voice – Last academic year

The feedback from our recent Parent Voice Survey incredibly positive and gives the staff in school a great sense of pride that you are happy with the education your child is receiving.

We take all of our Parent Feedback seriously and want to ensure they are happy with the education their children are being given. Following the survey, we have taken some steps to improve our academy even further.

  • Following the feedback, we have put on additional lessons and assemblies around bullying and cyber-bullying so children fully understand what it mean. We have also sent out additional information out to parents.
  • A minority of parents felt they were not told what their child is learning throughout the year. To rectify this, we sent out links of our class pages on our website to all parents so they could have daily updates on their child’s learning every day. We sent reminders out to parents that the information is also available on our learning platform Seesaw.

A massive thankyou! Parent’s Evening was nothing but excellent XXX went into Year 3 working below his age in maths not no more. Just goes to show with the right teaching methods children with SEN can achieve.

I just wanted to say thank you for making xxxx transition to Simpsons lane academy so smoothly.

xxxx teacher and teaching assistant have made him feel very welcome and he has settled in quickly and been made to feel welcome form the start.

When we moved I didn’t think we would find a school like poplars farm all my children had been to this school (3 in total) – Well I was so surprised walking round and seeing the facilities and what you had on offer and how you were with the children was amazing.

I love the fact that you provide some aspects of the uniform and recently the hygiene lesson really important so all children feel included.

The teachers greeting on the gates at the beginning and end of school always saying hello and smiling just helps your day start well and the children at ease – Fantastic idea

I’ve loved the book afternoons/mornings with xxxx and seeing him in the school environment

Thanks again for making it perfect for xxxx.
