Admissions

Simpson's Lane Academy, in line with all Delta academies, adheres to the Admissions Policies of the Local Authority (Wakefield). Please contact Wakefield School Admissions team if you would like to apply for a place at Simpson's Lane Academy:

Children enter school at the start of the academic year in which they become five. There is one admission date per year, early in September (i.e. when the autumn term begins).

Parents and carers have a right to express their preference, but this does not, in itself, guarantee a place at that particular school. Application should be made on a form that can be obtained from the local authority admissions department, and should be returned by the date stipulated on that form.

If parents and carers wish to appeal against a decision, they can do so by applying to Wakefield School Admissions team. An independent panel considers all such appeals, and its decision is binding for all parties concerned. If the appeals panel decides that we should admit a child to whom we had refused a place, then we will accept this decision and continue to do all we can to provide the best education for all the children at our academy.

The Published Admissions Number (PAN) is the number of children the LA considers the school can accommodate. The PAN for our academy is 45.

Nursery Admissions

If your child is 3 years old, or is due to turn 3, and you would like them to attend our Nursery please complete the Nursery admission form and return to the Academy office with evidence such as a passport or birth certificate to verify your child's date of birth and identity. We also require proof of address. Places will be allocated as set out in our Early Years Part-Time Admission Policy which can be found below.
